Every 5000W fat tire e-bike asks the same thing first: swing your leg up and over. The C35 doesn't ask. A 20" stand-over height lets you step straight through the frame and sit down — then 5000W peak dual-motor AWD, 210 Nm of torque, and full suspension take over. Nothing given up at the curb. Nothing given up on the trail.
The C35's carbon steel step-through frame drops the top tube to a 20" stand-over — the lowest in the Burchda lineup. Mount and dismount with both feet flat on the ground: at a stoplight, on a loose gravel shoulder, on a sloped driveway, with a loaded rack behind you. If a bad knee, a stiff hip, or a frame that was simply too tall has been keeping you off two wheels, this is the one that gets you back on. An angle-adjustable stem dials in your reach, from upright cruiser to forward trail posture.
A 33" – 39" saddle range fits riders from 5'6" to 6'5" — a six-inch spread most e-bikes don't come close to. Drop the post for your partner, raise it back for yourself, and share one bike instead of buying two. Step-through geometry means neither of you has to fight the frame to get on.
Front and rear hub motors — 1500W rated each, 5000W peak — drive both wheels with 210 Nm of combined torque (105 Nm front, 105 Nm rear). That's genuine all-wheel traction on sand, wet grass, mud, snow, and loose climbs, up to a 35° grade and a 40 MPH top speed, where single-motor bikes spin out and stall.
A 52V 35Ah (1820Wh) removable lithium battery — the largest capacity in the Burchda lineup — delivers up to 100 miles of pedal-assist range. Pull the pack out to charge it indoors, drop it back in, and go.
A 500 lbs payload capacity and a 150 lbs rear rack mean bigger riders, a week of gear, tools, coolers, or feed sacks — all on one bike. 180mm of hydraulic front travel and 70mm at the rear, plus 26" × 4.0" fat tires, flatten ruts, roots, and washboard. Hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors bring the whole load back down a steep descent.
LED headlight, taillight with integrated brake light, full fenders, rear rack, mirrors, and a tire pump are all in the box. A 3.5" color LCD, cruise control, half-twist throttle, Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, and an IP65 rating round it out — so the bike that takes the trail on Sunday is the same one that runs to the hardware store on Saturday.
Built for trails, farm roads, beaches, campgrounds, and the ride into town. Free US shipping, a 2-Year Limited Warranty, and fast dispatch from our California warehouse.
Every other AWD bike we build has a top tube you swing a leg over. On a slope, with a loaded rack, or at the end of a long day, that swing is the moment a lot of riders decide not to go.
The C35 takes it out. The frame drops to a 20" stand-over — the lowest we've ever built — so you step through and sit down, both feet on the ground the whole time. Same at every stoplight, every gate, every trailhead.
A step-through frame usually means a smaller, slower, lighter-duty bike. Not this one. 26" × 4.0" fat tires. 5000W peak dual-motor AWD. 500 lbs of payload. You give up the leg swing and nothing else.
Front and rear hub motors — 1500W rated each, 5000W peak — put 210 Nm of combined torque down through both wheels. 105 Nm at the front, 105 Nm at the rear.
That's what pulls you up a 35° grade on loose gravel, out of wet grass, and across soft sand without spinning a wheel. Single-motor bikes break traction and stall on exactly this stuff. Top speed is 40 MPH.
A bike you step into has no business climbing like this. This one does.
Switch between front, rear, and all-wheel drive as the ground changes — no stopping, no tools.
Front Drive — pavement and hardpack. One motor works, the other rests.
Rear Drive — climbing and loose surfaces. Power under your weight, where the traction is.
AWD — trails, sand, mud, snow, wet leaves, and anything steep. Both wheels pulling together.
Most riders leave it in AWD and forget about it. The other two are there for the days you'd rather not.
A single 52V 35Ah pack — 1820Wh, the largest capacity in the Burchda lineup — delivers up to 100 miles of pedal-assist range.
That capacity is what lets a bike rated for 500 lbs still reach 100 miles. It's one pack, built into the down tube, and it lifts out with a key.
Charge it on the bike, or carry it inside and charge it there. Going further than one pack takes you? A spare 52V 35Ah battery is available separately — the C35 runs one at a time, so you swap in the fresh pack and keep going.
Rider plus cargo, up to 500 lbs. That's a 300 lb rider and 200 lbs of gear, or a 350 lb rider and a fully loaded rack — on a high-carbon steel frame built to take it, day after day.
The rear rack is included and rated for 150 lbs of that total: a cooler, a toolbox, feed sacks, or a week of camping gear. Front and rear fenders come on it too. And when the rack isn't enough, the C35 tows — the Burchda cargo trailer bolts to the rear axle and carries another 99 lbs behind you.
26" × 4.0" fat tires spread the load instead of sinking into it, and hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors, front and rear, bring all of it back down a steep grade.
Cutting the top tube usually costs you capacity. Here it didn't.
A hydraulic fork with 180mm of travel up front, a 70mm shock at the rear, and 26" × 4.0" fat tires between them. Ruts, roots, gravel washboard, curb drops — the bike absorbs it instead of handing it up to you.
Step-through geometry sits you upright, and upright riding sends more of your weight straight down through the saddle rather than out onto your hands. That's exactly why the suspension earns its keep here — and why it's damped to work under a load, not just under an empty frame.
Front damping is adjustable: firm it up for pavement, open it up for trail.
Hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels, with 180mm rotors. Hydraulic means the lever pressure reaches the pad unchanged — no cable stretch, no fade in the wet, no difference between the first stop of the day and the twentieth.
Bringing a bike rated for 500 lbs down a steep grade is a different job than stopping an empty one. These are sized for the loaded version.
Both levers cut motor power the moment you touch them. Whatever the throttle was doing, the brakes get the last word.
A 600-lumen LED headlight with a focusing lens throws a defined beam down the trail instead of scattering it into the trees. You see the rut before you're in it, and you're not blinding whoever's coming the other way.
At the back, the taillight doubles as a brake light — squeeze a lever and it flares, so the car behind you knows you're slowing before you've actually slowed. An electric bell covers everything else.
The stem angle adjusts, so the bars go where you want them — upright and cruiser-like for the ride into town, or rolled forward for a planted trail posture. Same bike, two very different riding positions.
Pair that with the 33" – 39" saddle range and the fit window gets wide enough for two people in the same house. Drop the post, tip the bars, hand it over.
The saddle is wide and dual-spring damped — sized for the upright position a step-through frame puts you in, not for a racer's crouch.
A 3.5" color LCD reads out speed, PAS level, battery, trip and odometer. A USB port on the display keeps your phone charged off the main battery, so navigation doesn't die halfway through the ride.
Cruise control holds a set speed on long flats — and the half-twist throttle is right there when you want it back.
Note: Range and speed vary with rider weight, terrain, tire pressure, temperature, wind, and how much you pedal. Figures are measured under test conditions and are not a guarantee.
Batch 1 ships from our Fontana, CA warehouse starting September 7, 2026. Orders go out in the order they were placed, so ordering earlier means shipping earlier. If that date moves for any reason, we'll email you before September 7 with a new estimate and the option to cancel.
Yes — any time before your bike ships, for a full refund, no reason needed. Email support@burchdabikes.com and we'll process it. Once your C35 ships, our standard 30-day return policy takes over.
At checkout. That's what locks in the $1,599 pre-order price and holds your unit in Batch 1. If you cancel before shipping, you're refunded in full.
Camouflage is expected in late September 2026 and isn't part of Batch 1. You can sign up on the product page to be notified when it's available. Black is what ships first.
The C35 fits riders from 5'6" to 6'5" with a minimum inseam of about 30". The frame has a 20" stand-over height — the lowest we build — so you step through rather than swinging a leg over. The saddle adjusts from 33" to 39".
If you're near either end of that range, call us at (888) 400-0374 before you order. We'd rather talk you out of the wrong size than process a return.
No. The 500 lbs is rider plus cargo. The bike's own weight is separate.
150 lbs, and that counts toward the 500 lbs total — not on top of it.
That's what the 33"–39" saddle range is for — six inches of adjustment covers most of the 5'6" to 6'5" window. Both riders need to fall inside that range; the step-through frame means neither has to fight the top tube to get on.
The C35 comes with one 52V 35Ah (1820Wh) battery — the largest capacity in our lineup. A spare is available separately. The C35 runs one pack at a time, so a second battery is for swapping in the field, not for running both at once.
Up to 100 miles at PAS 1. Real range depends on your weight, terrain, tire pressure, wind, temperature, and how much you pedal — riding at higher assist levels or on throttle alone will be well short of 100 miles. The 100-mile figure is measured under test conditions, not a guarantee.
About 11 hours with the included 3A charger. The battery lifts out with a key, so most riders charge it indoors overnight.
Yes. The Burchda cargo trailer bolts to the rear axle and carries up to 99 lbs. Towed weight is separate from the bike's 500 lbs payload.
The frame is covered for 2 years; the battery, motor, and components for 1 year each — see the full warranty for what's included. If you need hands-on work, take it to any bike shop you trust and we'll reimburse approved repairs. Email support@burchdabikes.com or call (888) 400-0374 to start.
