Yes, you can collapse this folding electric bike to roughly 43.3" x 27.6" x 40.2" using its reinforced dual-hinge locking system, small enough to slide into most SUV trunks, RV storage bays, or apartment closets without removing the wheels or handlebars.
The R5 Pro is built on a 6061 aluminum alloy frame and certified to UL 2849 safety standards, so you get a battery, motor, and electrical system that have all passed rigorous third-party testing for daily commuting and off-road riding alike.
With a 48V 30Ah (1,440Wh) battery pack, you can ride up to 90 miles in pedal-assist mode, well beyond the 25-35 mile average you'll find on most compact folding commuters, so range anxiety won't hold you back on longer trips.
Thanks to its reinforced frame and dual suspension design, this folding e-bike supports up to 500 lbs of combined rider and cargo weight, well above the 250-300 lbs typical of lightweight folding models, so you don't have to worry about capacity even if you're a taller or heavier rider.
Even with a full-suspension, high-torque build, the tool-free dual-hinge latch system lets you collapse the frame without any extra tools or steps, so folding and storing it in a closet, corner, or trunk stays just as convenient as with lighter commuter models.
Absolutely, with a 40 mph top speed, 5-level pedal assist, and a compact folded footprint, you can pair this folding electric bike with public transit or ride it solo as a daily commuter that clears traffic without breaking a sweat.
It comes down to what annoys you most about your current commute or storage situation. If you're constantly running out of battery halfway through the week, look at battery capacity first, not motor power.
And if you're the type who wants to take it off-road on weekends but still needs it to fit in a car trunk during the week, that's exactly the gap the R5 Pro was built for, with its 5000W motor, fat tires, and 500 lbs capacity, without giving up the fold.
A folding e-bike gives you pedal-assist for real exercise, hydraulic disc brakes, and far higher stability and payload capacity at speed, while a scooter is lighter and more compact but limited to throttle-only power and a much shorter range.
You can fully recharge the 1,440Wh battery in about 6-7 hours using the included 48V 3A charger, and since the battery is removable, you can bring it indoors and charge it separately without hauling the whole bike inside.
With a 5000W peak motor and 210Nm of torque, this folding electric bike from Burchda handles steep hills and extended rides with noticeably more power in reserve than most compact folders, which typically rely on smaller 250-500W motors.
The R5 Pro carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, so you can ride it safely through light rain and wet roads, though we still recommend avoiding full submersion or high-pressure washing to protect the electrical components.
Because folding hinges take on repeated stress, you should check the latch mechanism and cable connections monthly, along with lubricating the chain and checking tire pressure every 1-2 weeks to keep performance and safety consistent.
