Pedal-Assist Range
An electric bike, also called an e-bike, is a bicycle with a rechargeable battery and electric motor. The motor provides extra support while you ride, making hills, headwinds, longer trips, and stop-and-go riding easier.
You can still pedal as you would on a regular bike. The amount of motor support depends on the assist level you select.
An e-bike uses a battery to power an electric motor. In pedal-assist mode, the motor adds power while you pedal. Higher assist settings reduce the effort needed to ride, especially on hills or against the wind.
Many Burchda models also include a throttle. Where local rules allow it, the throttle can power the bike without pedaling. The display shows information such as speed, battery level, and assist setting.
Burchda offers several types of electric bikes for different riding needs:
Fat tire electric bikes: Built for added grip and stability on gravel, sand, snow, and uneven roads.
Folding electric bikes: Designed for easier storage and transport in a car, RV, apartment, or office.
Long-range electric bikes: Made for riders who want to travel farther between charges.
Off-road electric bikes: Suited to rough paths, loose dirt, steep hills, and challenging routes.
An All-Wheel-Drive electric bike uses two motors, with one motor powering each wheel. Compared with a single-motor e-bike, an AWD e-bike delivers stronger power and improved traction.
AWD e-bikes are well suited to steep hills, rough terrain, loose dirt, mud, sand, and snow. Burchda AWD models include the HC26 AWD, Y3 AWD and R5 PRO MAX.
HC26 AWD: A good choice for riders who want AWD traction, fat tires, and more confidence on hills, uneven roads, sand, snow, or loose terrain.
Y3 AWD: Suited to riders who want AWD performance and extended battery capacity for longer rides and demanding routes.
R5 PRO: A suitable choice for mixed terrain, longer rides, and electric mountain bike adventures.
Before choosing, check the model's rider fit, battery capacity, payload limit, tire type, suspension, and storage needs.
Start with how and where you plan to ride. Consider your usual distance, hills, road conditions, storage space, charging access, and whether you need to carry groceries, work items, hunting equipment, or other gear.
Then compare rider fit, battery capacity, bike weight, payload capacity, tire type, suspension, brakes, and frame design. Choose a bike that suits your regular riding needs, rather than focusing only on speed or battery size.
Battery life depends on charging habits, storage temperature, riding conditions, rider weight, terrain, assist level, and usage frequency. Over time, lithium-ion batteries gradually hold less energy than when they were new. Proper care and maintenance can help extend your e-bike battery lifespan.
Use the supplied charger, keep the battery dry, and store it indoors at a moderate temperature when possible. If you will not ride for several weeks, do not leave the battery empty.
Yes. You can pedal an e-bike when the battery is empty or removed, but the motor will not assist.
An e-bike usually feels heavier than a regular bicycle because it has a motor, battery, and reinforced frame. Start longer rides with enough battery for your route, especially if you expect hills, wind, or extra cargo.
Yes. All Burchda electric bikes are UL 2849 certified.
UL 2849 evaluates the e-bike's electrical drive system, battery system, and charger system for electrical and fire safety. Always use the supplied charger, inspect the battery and cables for visible damage, and charge the battery on a dry, non-flammable surface.
Burchda e-bikes have an IPX4 water-resistance rating. They can handle light rain, splashes, and normal wet-road riding.
Do not submerge the bike, ride through deep water, or spray the battery, display, motor, or electrical connections with a high-pressure hose. After riding in wet conditions, wipe down the bike and keep the battery contacts dry.
The terrain you can ride depends on the model.
Burchda fat-tire and AWD models, including the HC26 AWD, Y3 AWD and R5 PRO MAX, are better suited to gravel, sand, snow, dirt roads, loose ground, steep hills, and rougher off-road terrain.
For hunting, the best Burchda e-bike depends on your terrain, route distance, and the gear you need to carry. The Y3 AWD, R5 RPO and HC26 AWD are strong options for dirt roads, hills, loose ground, mud, sand, and uneven access routes.
The Y3 AWD is a suitable option for riders who want AWD capability and extended battery capacity for longer trips. Before riding, check local rules for e-bike use on public land, hunting areas, trails, and private property.
Your Burchda e-bike arrives approximately 85% pre-assembled. Most riders can complete the remaining assembly in about 20 minutes using the included tools and video guide.
Before your first ride, make sure the handlebars, pedals, front wheel, lights, and included accessories are installed correctly. Check that all bolts are secure, the tires are properly inflated, the brakes work properly, and the battery is installed securely.
Even when a helmet is not required, wearing a properly fitted bicycle helmet is recommended. It is especially important when riding near traffic, at higher speeds, on wet roads, or on uneven terrain.
